Building digital literacy, skills and classroom confidence for teachers.

Integrating technology into classrooms is crucial. Many K-12 educators face challenges with digital resources, diverse student needs, and varying degrees of digital literacy among teachers.

In partnership with AT&T, WashU’s Institute for School Partnership (ISP) launched the AT&T Digital Navigation Program in 2025. Designed and delivered by seasoned educators with extensive working knowledge of technology tools for PreK-12 educators, the free professional learning program aims to build critical digital fluency for teachers and boost confidence for applying technology into existing classroom curriculum.

The program included two workshop tiers, mentorship, and a capstone project. Teachers were guided through technology skills foundations to build confidence and then embarked on personalized journeys with a digital navigation mentor to explore topics like AI, data modeling, computational thinking, and the growing list of digital tools that can be integrated into existing curriculum.

Participants completing both tiers of the program were eligible to earn digital credits to purchase hardware, devices, software, and subscriptions that support the integration of technology in the classroom.

During the 2025-2026 academic year, the program reached 53 PreK-12 educators, representing 17 St. Louis-area schools/districts.
