Dr. Ruggirello is the Associate Director of the Institute for School Partnership at Washington University, where she leads strategic initiatives to bridge educational research and practice in STEM education. With a focus on transforming schools through educator capacity-building and evidence-based instructional practices, she has played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the mySci K-8 curriculum. Her leadership has secured multimillion-dollar grants to support STEM education innovation, equity, and translational research, fostering strong partnerships between researchers, educators, and policymakers. In addition to her administrative and research roles, she serves as adjunct faculty at Washington University and has contributed extensively to national conversations on science education reform.

With a Ph.D. in Science and Mathematics Education from Curtin University and a background in chemistry education, biology, and sociology, Dr. Ruggirello has a diverse career spanning classroom teaching, curriculum development, and large-scale educational initiatives. Her work has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the National Science Education Leadership Association’s Outstanding Administrative Support Award and multiple NGSS Design Badges for exemplary curriculum development. She is an active member of professional organizations such as the National Network for Research Practice Partnerships and the National Association for Research in Science Teaching, and she engages in community service efforts supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in education. Through her research, leadership, and advocacy, Dr. Ruggirello continues to drive meaningful change in K-12 science education.
