WashU Mathematical Excellence Competition

WUMEC, hosted by WashU’s Math Club, is open to all high school students, offering both individual and team competitions, giving participants the chance to strengthen their mathematical skills and apply them to real-world challenges. It’s more than just a contest—it’s an opportunity to connect with peers, compete, and grow as problem solvers. The ISP proudly provides administrative support for this event.

St. Louis Area Brain Bee

St. Louis Area Brain Bee 

SLABB is an annual event for high school students that are interested in the brain and neuroscience. Demonstrations, panels, and materials come from Brain Facts, a book published by the Society for Neuroscience. The winner of SLABB has an opportunity to compete in the US national Brain Bee competition. The ISP proudly provides administrative support for this event.

The Summer Teacher Researcher Program is one of the many ways that the ISP provides campus-wide support for WashU faculty to develop partnership and outreach opportunities with St. Louis-area schools.

Tech Saturdays

These workshops offered by the ISP are a great way for K-8 teachers to build skills that help make connections to curriculum using tech tools and programs. These free, hands-on learning sessions are offered six times a year on WashU’s Danforth campus.
