Educators in the St. Louis region who teach students in grades three through eight will have an opportunity to build their digital literacy by participating in the AT&T Digital Navigation Program.

Teacher Dorothy Moore has no doubts about her career choice.  In fact, she sees her role as an early childhood educator at Garrett Elementary School in the Hazelwood School District as more vital and full of possibility than ever. Can we produce alternatives to plastic from renewable sources?

WashU engineer Marcus Foston has devoted his life to that question. And today, 25 middle school students from Central Middle School in the Riverview Gardens School District have joined him on that quest.

Lisa Everett knows an engaged first grader when she sees one.

“Engaged students are actively involved in the learning,” she says. “They are asking and answering questions, using the materials, and discussing the activity with classmates. They are driving their own learning.”

Even with 25 years of experience teaching a full range of grade levels from fourth to twelfth, Everett is keeping her own learning curve fresh.

Terrance wanted better for his students. So he was eager to join Math314, WashU’s innovative program to boost math instruction and student achievement.

Educators from across the St. Louis region will participate in the third annual educator showcase hosted by Washington University’s Institute for School Partnership (ISP) from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in Holmes Lounge on WashU’s Danforth Campus.
